Here are my NFL Week 10 picks
Jacksonville Jaguars(0-8) at Tennessee Titans(4-4)- The Titans are giving away 13 points to the winless Jaguars. Last week Chris Johnson looked to be on his way back to his old days when he rushed for 150 yards and 2 TDs. Now going up against the Jaguars; Johnson should have almost the same amount of production against just a horrible opponent. Give me the Titans to cover the spread.
Philadelphia Eagles(4-5) at Green Bay Packers(5-3)- With the Aaron Rodgers injury the Packers are only giving away 1 point to the Eagles. Although the game is in Green Bay; The Packers have way too many injuries on the offense and defense. While the Eagles are coming off of a record tying performance from QB Nick Foles, who threw 7 TDs last week. I will go with the Eagles getting 1 point and getting the upset.
Buffalo Bills(3-6) at Pittsburgh Steelers(2-6)- While their records are basically the same; These teams are going in two completely different directions. The Steelers are old, while the Bills are filled with good young talent that are finally getting healthy. The Steelers are actually giving the Bills 3 points in this game. With a returning EJ Manuel to the Bills lineup; I like the Bills getting the 3 and the win this weekend.
Oakland Raiders(3-5) at New York Giants(2-6)- I personally have been leading the Terrelle Pryor bandwagon and I don’t see I should stop now. The Giants are giving the Raiders 7 points this week; While the Giants have won 2 in a row and are coming off of a bye, Eli Manning is a turnover machine and will have problems with a Raiders defense that needs to make up for what happened to them last week. Once again I will be taking the points and pick the Raiders to get the W.
St. Louis Rams(3-6) at Indianapolis Colts(6-2)- The Colts are laying 9.5 points to the Rams this weekend up in Indy. The Colts haven’t disappointed from last year and have actually done better since they are leading the division at the moment. Andrew Luck is turning into an elite QB in just his 2nd year and the Rams just don’t have enough offense to keep up with them. Give me the Colts to cover the 9.5 points.
Seattle Seahawks(8-1) at Atlanta Falcons(2-6)- The Falcons have been in my opinion the most disappointing team this entire season. They have been decimated by injuries and now they have to face possibly the best team in the NFL in the Seahawks. The Seahawks are just 1 of 4 road teams that are favorites this week, and there’s a good reason why too. The Seahawks are starting to get back to full strength and have been dominant in almost every win. While the Falcons only 2 wins are at home I pick the Seahawks to cover the 5.5 point spread.
Cincinnati Bengals(6-3) at Baltimore Ravens(3-5)- This is the 1st meeting of two for the Bengals and Ravens this season, and this is definitely a game both teams need. After losing in overtime last thursday night to the Miami Dolphins; The Bengals look to bounce back and increase their division lead over the Cleveland Browns. On the other hand the Ravens look to stay alive in the AFC wild card hunt with a win after losing to the Browns last sunday. Both teams are coming off of bad loses, but I see the Bengals winning this game and covering the 1.5 point spread this weekend.
Detroit Lions(5-3) at Chicago Bears(5-3)- With these teams tied for the division lead in the NFC North; The Lions and Bears look to have a very competitive game this weekend. With all signs pointing to Jay Cutler returning this week from his groin injury; I still give the edge to the high-powered offense of the Lions. The Lions who have created a balanced offense with the signing of Reggie Bush this offseason and are poised to make the playoffs this year after having a disappointing season last year. With this game being the only pick’em of the weekend; I like the Lions to win and take over sole possession of 1st place in the division.
Carolina Panthers(5-3) at San Francisco 49ers(6-2)- This game right here could end up being the best game of the weekend, if these teams keeps playing the way they have been. The Panthers are on a 4 game winning streak, and them scoring 30+ points in each of those games. On the same end the 49ers have 5 straight games and have scored 30+ points in those 5 games as well. Not only do these teams have high powered offenses; They also have two of the top ranked defenses in the entire league. So this game can go either way; We might get a shootout or we might see a great defensive battle. In the end I see the 49ers winning a close game, BUT I don’t see them covering the 6 points they are giving to the Panthers. So with that said I will be taking the Panthers and the 6 points.
Houston Texans(2-6) at Arizona Cardinals(4-4)- Next to the Falcons; the Texans have been a very close 2nd for most disappointing team in the NFL. With them on their 3rd string QB in Case Keenum, the Texans look to hope they have some sort of QB for the future in him, because they can’t and I doubt they will go back to Matt Schaub. On the other end the Cardinals seem to be just one of those teams that is destined to be an 8-8 team. I know that’s easy to say with them being 4-4, but they have an average QB, below average RB, a future hall of famer at WR and a young defense. With the spread only being 3 points, I will take the Cardinals giving away those points and to cover.
Denver Broncos(7-1) at San Diego Chargers(4-4)- After a scary week for the Broncos that involved coach John Fox to have open heart surgery, and them naming Jack Del Rio as interim head coach; The Broncos look to continue their dominant season. A team that has scored 30+ points each week this year the Broncos want to add on to that streak this week in San Diego. While the Chargers look to stay in the AFC wild card; It will be tough for them to do that this week against the Broncos. I see the Broncos continuing the streak of 30+ points scored and covering the spread; Denver is giving San Diego 7 points this week.
Dallas Cowboys(5-4) at New Orleans Saints(6-2)- Sunday Night Football looks to be a good one(like most times) this week with this matchup. The Saints have one of the most improved defenses with the help of Rob Ryan; Who was fired this offseason by the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys have been one of the most roller coaster teams in the past few years and haven’t been able to become a steady winner this year as well. With the Saints back at full strength with Sean Payton back on the sidelines this year; The Saints are back into being super bowl contenders. The Saints are only giving away 6.5 this week and they are home. So I will take the Saints to win this one easily and absolutely cover the spread.
Miami Dolphins(4-4) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers(0-8)- In what could end up being the worst Monday Night Football game of all time; Miami heads to Tampa Bay to face the winless Buccaneers. While basically none of the talk on the Dolphins have been on the field, because of the crazy incident and situation between Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin. The Dolphins look to get the NFL back to talking about their performance on the field after monday’s game. While the Buccaneers look to finally win a game this year and look to have some sort of future with QB Mike Glennon. Even with all off field distractions the Dolphins have had this weekend; I look for them to win this game easily and cover the 2.5 point spread this week.
