With the NFL Playoffs finally here, teams who have missed out on the playoffs start planning for the future. The future can be one of two things. Either regroup with the staff they have and start working towards the NFL draft and free agency. Or like what 5 teams have already done; Fire the head coach and start all over for the 2014 NFL season.
Currently in the NFL there are six head coaching vacancies. Houston Texans, Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings, Washington Redskins, Detroit Lions and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 5 of the 6 teams fired their coach after the season ended last night. The Houston Texans made an in season change when they fired long time head coach Gary Kubiak.
These six teams are either looking for the hottest name in college football, the next up and coming assistant(Offensive/Defensive coordinator) or a retired head coach willing to make a go at it one more time in the hopes of winning a super bowl.
While other teams, such as the Cowboys, Dolphins, Giants, and Titans look into keeping their current coach or be like the six teams before them and look to start new.
The next few weeks and months should be an interesting ones even for the teams out of the playoffs that are looking for a head coach. The only question fans of these teams looking for the new head coach will be asking; Is this the right guy for the job?
Leave comments on who you think will land with each team.
