2014 Cleveland Indians

Today is a joyous day for Tribe fans and baseball fans around the world; Pitchers and catchers report to spring training. Which means two things, one that the baseball season is right around the corner and along with that, it means that winter is almost over and spring will be here in no time and the states filled with snow will soon be filled with flowers, trees, and full of sunshine.

After coming off of a 92-70 & being involved in the one-game wild card playoff game against the Tampa Bay Rays in which they lost 4-0 at home this past October. The Cleveland Indians are looking to build off of that success along with their manager winning AL manager of the year. While the off-season has been quiet and the biggest off-season signing has been David Muprhy(2 years for $12 million). The Indians have also taken flyers on players like, Nyjer Morgan, Shawn Marcum, and even potential closer John Axford. One of the bigger moves this off-season that hasn’t got much buzz is the trade of speedster Drew Stubbs to the Colorado Rockies for left handed reliever Josh Outman.

Plenty of moves are still to come with the official start date of the first game(In Oakland) just 48 days away and 52 days away from the Indians home opener on April 4th. Last year’s best 2nd half pitcher for the Indians Ubaldo Jimenez is still without and team and could be looking at his return to the Indians organization or could be leaving for a new city. Also pitchers like Ervin Santana, AJ Burnett(considering retirement), and others are still without a job. Position players like, Nelson Cruz(suspended for PED use last year), Stephen Drew, Kendrys Morales, and others are also still without a job with Spring Training right around the corner.

But for right now let’s take a look at what the potential starting lineup and starting rotation could be for your Cleveland Indians with the roster as is.
