The Wrestling world took an major and extremely unexpected blow yesterday. The immortal Ultimate Warrior passed away at the age of 54.
The Ultimate Warrior left the WWE(then the WWF) in 1996, and was never a part of the WWE since then. Until he was featured on this year’s cover of the WWE 2k14 Video Game. The Warrior did plenty of promotional work during the time of the release of the game. But that’s not it; Along with being on the cover of the video game the Warrior was the headliner for the 2014 WWE Hall Of Fame. A group that consisted of Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Razor Ramon, Lita, Mr. T, Paul Bearer and Carlos Colon. The Warrior was the main guy this year to get inducted and was even inducted by Vince McMahon’s wife Linda McMahon.
WWE’s biggest event of the year took place this last weekend at that was WreslteMania 30. On Saturday night is when all of the Hall Of Fame inductees were officially put into the Hall. The following night at WrestleMania all the inductees were on stage and on TV for the fans to see. The Warrior being the headliner of the class was the only one to have his theme music play, walk out by himself and to receive a standing ovation. The following night on Monday Night Raw; The Warrior greeted the WWE Universe in a way only he could do so. The Warrior came to the ring, put on an Ultimate Warrior jacket, and even helped sell some merchandise when he put on his “face paint” when he talked. The following quotes are from the Ultimate Warrior’s final appearance on national TV as he talked to the WWE universe.
“No WWE talent becomes a legend on their own. Every man’s heart one day beats its final beat. His lungs breathe their final breath. And if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them believe deeper in something larger than life then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized. By the story tellers, by the loyalty, by the memory of those who honor him and make the running the man did live forever. You, you, you, you, you, you are the legend makers of Ultimate Warrior. In the back I see many potential legends. Some of them with warrior spirits. And you will do the same for them. You will decide if they lived with the passion and intensity. So much so that you will tell your stories and you will make them legends, as well. I am Ultimate Warrior. You are the Ultimate Warrior fans. And the spirit of the Ultimate Warrior will run forever!”
That entire quote given to WWE will be something everyone lives with, and will never forget. No matter if you loved him or hated him in the ring; Those words he spoke with on Monday will be with everyone who saw it. Young fans and old fans alike had the chance to see The Ultimate Warrior do what he did best and what he loved to do. He shook the ropes one last time, and he got to talk to Ultimate Warrior fans for one last time. This past week I believe gave the Warrior the closure he has been waiting for, and he finally received that from not only the WWE family, but the WWE Universe. And like he said the spirit of the Ultimate Warrior will run forever!
