4-28-14 Raw Preview

Live from St. Louis, Missouri WWE Raw will have the return of the legend back on WWE TV. Former Evolution member Ric Flair, will be making his return to Raw tonight, and could play a role in the rivalry between Evolution and the Shield. While nothing has been confirmed on what role he will be in tonight it is confirmed that he will be on Raw. Could we see the entire Evolution group back together for one more run? Could we see Evolution turn on the Nature Boy? Plenty of questions can be asked about his upcoming appearance, but everyone is excited to see him back on Raw.

Following last week’s attack by the monster Kane; The Authority will try to control the monster with just six days until Kane meets WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan in a title match at Extreme Rules in an Extreme Rules match. Also we are expected to see the return of Daniel Bryan this week after sustaining a “stinger” due to the attack by Kane. Stephanie McMahon is rumored to have a segment on Raw with Bryan where she apologizes to Bryan. While I expect to see Kane & Bryan to be face-to-face tonight I doubt we see the same destruction Kane gave Bryan last week on tonight’s Raw. Although the WWE will continue to build the match as David vs Goliath with the likely ending with Bryan winning at Extreme Rules; I am worried that the WWE is setting Bryan up for failure with his first title defense against Kane.

The final match of the Intercontinental Championship number one contender tournament happens tonight as the WWE Universe will see Rob Van Dam go one-on-one against Bad News Barrett. With RVD being the long time fan favorite, and Barrett gaining a lot of momentum since returning to the ring with the fans could set up for a great match. Following last week’s words RVD gave Paul Heyman I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Heyman and his new client Cesaro costing RVD the win tonight and his chance at becoming the Intercontinental Champion. Barrett is already a three time Intercontinental Champion, but appears to have a lot of steam behind him this time and could be set up for a major push in the WWE. His size and his ability to use the mic will help him from here on out, and I believe we see Barrett win tonight’s match, and face Big E at Extreme Rules for the Intercontinental Championship.

Not only does tonight mark the return of Ric Flair, but tonight is also the return of movie star Hugh Jackman. Last time Jackman was on a Monday Night Raw he gave Dolph Ziggler a knockout punch, and tonight he could do the same thing. But looks like the knockout punch will be on a different superstar based on the “twitter beef” that has gone on last week. Through twitter Ziggler looked to bury the hatchet with Jackman tonight, but Damien Sandow got involved and we will see these three together tonight. With Sandow & Ziggler both deserving of a push from the WWE it will be interesting to see how this segment is booked, and how the fans respond to this segment.

Tonight’s Raw will also see a Championship on the line as The Usos will put the Tag Team titles on the line against Ryback & Curtis Axel. The looks of this match seems to rushed as it was only last week that Rybaxel were on commentary during the Usos match, and following the match they attacked them from behind. The Usos had a lot of momentum when they once won the belts off of the New Age Outlaws, but it seems like some of their momentum has slowed a little bit. While Rybaxel have been teaming for a handful of months now this is their first legitimate chance at the belts tonight. The Usos will be victorious tonight, but I do believe we see a rematch between these two teams(maybe even more) at Extreme Rules this sunday.

Extreme Rules has six matches confirmed for the “Special Event” this year.

Alexander Rusev Vs Xavier Woods & R-Truth. Paige(defending her Championship) vs Tamina.

Big E(defending his Championship) Vs RVD or Barrett. Cena Vs Bray in a Steel Cage.

The Shield vs Evolution. Daniel Bryan(defending his Championship) vs Kane in a Extreme Rules match.

Plenty of storylines will continue tonight as they have look forward to Extreme Rules. Paige looks to show that she is the top WWE Diva. Bray Wyatt looks to continue stay in John Cena’s head as they prepare for their steel cage match. Lana & Alexander Rusev continue their dominance, and hope that continues in his handicap match on sunday.

Tonight’s Raw looks to have plenty of excitement with the return of the legend Ric Flair, and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan. With movie star Hugh Jackman being involved in physical activity gives the WWE Universe something different from any other guest host does. I’m excited for this Raw tonight, and make sure you join in on the conversation on twitter.
